Delete your Breakscroll account
You can delete your Breakscroll account and the personal data associated with it at any time. Choose whichever option below matches your situation.
Option 1 — Delete from inside the app
- Open the Breakscroll app on your Android device and sign in if you aren't already.
- Tap the Settings icon (top right of the home screen).
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account.
- Confirm in the dialog. Deletion is immediate.
Option 2 — Don't have the app installed anymore?
Email support@breakscroll.app from the email address associated with your account. Subject line: Account deletion request. We will verify ownership and complete deletion within 30 days (typically within 72 hours).
What gets deleted
The following is removed immediately and permanently:
- Your Firebase Authentication record (email, password hash, Google linkage)
- Your Firestore profile: name, age, onboarding answers, screen-time goals, selected blocked apps
- Your progress data: completed challenges, daily streak, earned minute balance, pushup/squat counts
- Your subscription state (the app stops recognising you as a subscriber on next launch)
What is retained
- Billing records (Google Play): Google Play retains its own purchase records independently of us, for tax and reconciliation purposes required by law. We have no control over how long Google retains them. To manage your Google Play subscription separately, visit play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions.
- Anonymous analytics: events the app sent before deletion are stored against a random device identifier rather than your user id, so they are not linked back to you after deletion. They are retained for product analytics for up to 12 months and then removed.
- Backups: Firebase's standard system backups may retain deleted data for up to 30 days before they roll off. Nothing can be re-linked to you during that window because the auth record is gone.
Cancelling your subscription
Deleting your account does not automatically cancel your Google Play subscription. Cancel separately at play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions before deleting, or you will continue to be billed by Google Play until the end of the current billing period.
